Spartan Race Ultra Beast Obstacle Marathon. OBSTACLE MARATHON.
On September 22, 2012, Spartan Races is unleashing the Ultra Beast, the world’s first marathon distance obstacle course. Taking place at Snowshed Base Lodge in Killington VT, the race is listed at 26.2(ish) miles and (according to Spartan Races) is so tough that prospective racers must apply with a race resume and three sentences about why you would want to subject yourself to such awesomeness. The number and nature of the obstacles at the Ultimate Beast haven’t been disclosed yet, but I don’t image there’ll be any tickle stations. Besides that and the fact that there will only be one aid station, further details are still pending. In the meantime, here’s a video that’ll make you want to punch your way through a brick wall.
