Planning on heading into Yosemite this summer? We just got our hands on an exceptional guidebook that can get you exactly where you want to go. The book contains detailed information for each adventure, with color photos, mileage, topography maps and elevation profiles. The book is written by Matt Johanson, an avid hiker who speaks with authority on the area and adds many details only experience can provide.
The guide is broken up into 5 introduction sections to suit the desired activity: Winter Treks, Hiking, Backpacking, Mountain Climbing and Rock Climbing. Each section starts with an easy trek, and moves into more strenuous activities so the reader can work up from light excursions to multi-day adventures in each category. One of our favorite sections is the climbing guide with details about where trees, ledges, and walking paths are mentioned along with pictures of the various faces and routes.
Overall, the book inspires adventure and has all the information for a safe and successful trip into one of the most beautiful National Parks in our Nation. Pick up a copy here or look for it at a local bookstore.
