Shasta Lanes celebrated Redding Beer Week right, with taps doling out delicious brews from Fall River (Pacific Crest Pale, Hexagenia IPA, Stockyard Lager), Eel River (California Blonde), and Lassen Aleworks (Amber Ale). The bar was packed with beer week celebration, while the lanes rhythmically thudded and pins happily scattered before the multi-colored balls. The family event had kids happily rolling their shots down bumpered lanes while parents happily sipped on top shelf brews which made for a relaxed Monday night atmosphere. It was a perfect night to perfect the backspin (still working on that one), and generally get out for a fun night with friends.
While many bowling alleys tend to be dark and somewhat odoriferous, Shasta lanes was bright with good music and comfortable chairs. The availability of lanes allowed for plenty of games to stack up without feeling rushed to finish up. The lanes also had party lights that make the walls glow neon for a fully different experience that’s worth checking out as well.
Overall, Redding Beer Week at Shasta Lanes was a success with fun games and great people. As usual, the great local breweries had a craft brewed selection worth sampling, and a positive outlook on the future of Redding’s growing beer culture.
