The Good: Quick & easy seal that locks everything up tight.
The Bad: Entry and exit was a bit sticky for the version with the jack.
The Not So Ugly: A nice array of punchy colors. Mine a beautiful Hot Salmon Pink.
MSRP starts at $24.95 http://www.cascadedesigns.com/e-case
We hit some swampy waters on our last jaunt and I was a little concerned that bringing my phone was not the best idea, especially when I opened the ‘water-tight’ hatch on my board to find my ECase pouch fully submerged at the bottom of a deep puddle. My heart skipped a beat, but I issued a huge sigh of relief as I inspected a perfectly parched pocket of goodies. To further test its seal I had the arduous task of poolside testing the next week. Submerged under a few feet of water and no leaks. The phone gives up from the pressure before the bag. Held under the cascade of a waterfall and again, no leaks.
It came through in the water tight department, but what about functionality? The ultra-clear urethane UV resistant windows allow for FULL use of your touchscreen and camera. We found the pictures are crisper if you put the camera lens closer to the seam, as the other edge bubbled out a bit and could lead to a little fog. I attached the worst picture we took through the bag. It had some haze, but wasn’t bad. The sound and voice options worked like a charm as well. I even made up a little mud bath to slosh it around in and the calls still came through clearly.
They come in multiple sizes depending on what you’re trying to keep out of Mother Nature’s reach. We tested the series 9, series 9 with jack, and series 9.5. They each include two tethering holes, perfect for securing the case to cargo or your body. The jack worked great for tunes during a rain-filled run, but since that version didn’t have an arm band, I probably won’t be bringing it along all that often.
Bottom line: Great little ALL-weather proof case for keeping your electronics and important belongings absolutely safe & dry. Thumbs up!
