Dave and Amy Freeman were awarded the incredible honor of Adventurers of the Year 2014 by National Geographic Magazine.
In September of 2015, Dave and Amy Freeman hopped into a boat in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Their trip would not end for 366 days.
Their epic journey had a purpose, to draw attention to the Campaign to Save the Boundary Waters in an effort to protect the area from proposed sulfide-ore copper mining. 366 days later, on September 23, 2016, they returned. Dave and Amy camped at approximately 120 different sites, explored 500 lakes, rivers and streams, and traveled more than 2,000 miles by canoe, foot, ski, snowshoe and dog team. In this interview, we ask some basic questions and introduce you to both Dave and Amy.
