It wasn’t until my six-year pair of Z/1 model Chaco straps frayed to their final threads, the tread wore down to the core, and they had been given third-degree burns from a campfire that I finally decided to try out a new model. I ordered the Z/2s just in time for my 3 1/2 month work adventure in Central America.Fast forward three months, and I’ve finally found some down time (while waiting out a torrential rainstorm in a cafe on Tortuguero Island, Costa Rica) to tell you what I think.
